is the new charge against Strauss Kahn. I have to say I've never heard that term used but it probably fits when it comes to this guy. He was bound to eventually be charged with something. It would seem he just can't keep it in his pants.

Pimping in France is similar to in the U.S. when you make money from prostitution.

In France prostitution of course is legal as are brothels etc.

The "aggravated" charge alleges involvement in the habitual operation of a prostitution racket. Specifically, "aggravated' means on a regular and involved basis, and "pimping" means actually facilitating a prostitution operation, not just being a customer which is of course legal.

Prostitution isn't illegal in France, but making money off of someone else's prostitution is. Last December, DSK's lawyer Henri Leclerc admitted that his client attended sex parties, but he claimed that he was not aware the women there were prostitutes. If the latest charges against Strauss-Kahn are true, he was more than a mere attendee.

his charges stem from the source of the payment of the escorts, especially whether they came from a corporation, so it's more like a case of missappropriation (what an ugly term) of funds case.

There are two separate issues in the DSK case.  One is using corporate funds but that is a different issue than the "aggravated" related to pimping related to the parties he supposedly helped organize with prostitutes.

As mentioned before prostitution of course is legal in France and much of the world but not a third party making profits off it like a pimp.
