First a clarification: She is not attacking the hobby, she attacking the porn industry, because according to her 'insights' the industry is running like a giant prostitution ring, forcing porn stars to sell themselves in order to reap monetary value, that the industry is not capable of producing anymore.
Accordingly, she is outing as many as porn stars as possible to support her campaign, claiming that many porn stars talent agencies are nothing but a cover for prostitution, which being illegal, should be prosecuted. She is tracking down not just porn stars, but also ad websites, and agencies, which in her view feature as bridges to porn star agencies. She is couching her strategy by going after all porn stars agencies which talent happen to be publicly traceable in the escort market.
Her website is designed to basically collect information on as many as case as possible where that link between porn stars agencies, porn stars who are in her view forced to prostitution, and 'cover agencies' can be established. As such, she is doing the same that another site has been doing since few years ago: Outing 'real names' and their medical records publicly, in order to demonstrate that gay people, who allow ‘switching’ performer to work in both worlds thus increasing the probabilities of disease diffusion, run the porn industry.
Both sites and the personality that run them have a lot in common:
1) they were both 'loser' so to speak in the porn-game of money, in the sense that they were or became marginalized in the industry because they did not became the 'star' they believe they are, and perhaps because well, it is easy to see why. Thus, they are taking their revenge against the system that refused them;
2) both are truly fanatic, one with his obsession against homosexuality, the other with his spiritual commitment to follow the direction of God who does tell her that she will clear the industry of its 'evils;'
3) both have a paranoid-style of viewing the world and its social relationships, they see monsters and evils everywhere, and even the most absurd indication is a proof that they are proceeding because everyone is against what they are trying to demonstrate;
4) both have a 'conspiracy theory' approach to their mission, so everything can be used to prove that their are right and legitimated in what they are pursuing;
5) both are 'narcissistic' in the sense that their view is not just the correct one but the only one that demonstrate how brilliant they are in taking down the 'giant' that ruined their 'AAA' career;
6) both use wherever avenue to 'evangelize' and proselytes about their cause, thus making their life worth of the goal they have finally envisioned, and that in turn make their 'crusade' apocalyptic such that the maximum media exposure can be reached.
All the above is of course driven to make some bucks out of their own failure in the porn industry.
So what these sad stories do tells us? For one, it tells that ‘escort’ agencies should be very careful about their business because out there is someone who would do anything to crack down or epxose what they think is just illegal cover. Then, it tells that we should be extremely attentive towards whom we perceive as being part of this community. This because the level of hysteria again porn, sexual freedom and adult-based activities has now reached an unprecedented turning point: namely, that anything linking money and sex need to be obliterated simply because no matter how you disguises about the differences all those links leads to ‘illegality.’ This term is attracting a lot of media attention, which is increasing the monitoring of the porn industry as well of the ‘rest’ forming its supposedly ‘evil’ components. Both are truly as sad stories as you can imagine, but we should learn from them that outside the hobby world there is a wave of madness that soon rather than later we may be prepared to face. If anyone read the ‘insiders report’ of the porn industry it will notice that the talk about ‘escorting’ is becoming a trend topic, with more and more exposure being given to all sort of ‘allegations’ linking porn and escorting. What is common about this insiders talking and the other ‘crusaders’ mentioned above is hysteria, paranoia and an explosion of accusation about anything and everything, much of which of course have nothing to do with escort but almost all has to do with porn.
When hysteria reaches these levels, our hobby world is going to be scrutinized and watched closely by many. It is up to us to do everything we can to protect ourselves from it.
