First trip down, any last minute advice?

Driving down from LA tomorrow after work. Going to park on US side and walk across. Probably about 8p. Will then catch a cab to Pueblo Amigo, see a lady, sleep, see another lady in the morning and cross back to US. I have two questions, both regarding crossing the border. 1. Should I be worried about crossing at night? and 2. When I come back, how does that work? Can I just take a cab to the border and walk across from where they drop me? I guess that's 3 questions. Thanks for your help!

Puebl Amigo is close enough to walk. Although I wouldn't recommend walking at night. So I would take a taxi to the hotel. It's going to be a very short ride. Walking from hotel to the border during the day is definitely doable. Have fun and be safe.

The actual crossing into Mexico isn't much to worry about, but when you are out and about--don't think I ever walked around there at night by myself; would just take a cab to be safe.  When you are done, the cabs can take you to the border crossing ("la linea").  By then, it should be day time, and you shouldn't have to be as worried about safety.

People safely cross the border at night day in and day out.  I normally advise people to take a cab to the border at night.  The Pueblo Amigo is so close to the border the odds are you could walk to the border safely at night, but it is just enough of a walk you'd probably be happier taking a cab.

Tell the cab driver to drop you at the Linea Sentri (SENTRI line).  It's a very short walk from there.
