Hello LG

I have this small but unsightly red colored area down below adjacent to my scrotum. I don't know if it would be conidered a rash of some sorts as there is no feeling to it like irritation or itching involved. A while back when I was on some antibiotics for strep throat, it completely disappeared but approximately 7 months later it has returned. Now I realize seeing my Dr. is always the best bet but I was wondering if this was something somewhat common and if there is a simpler, possibly an over the counter type solution to this. Or is this something I should be more concerned about? Thanks in advance for your input.

Uh oh, DrShy,

Could it be good old fashioned jock itch? Now please bear in mind that I am not a physician, nor should my reply be constituted as medical advice. If you are in doubt, see a physician immediately.

But, you could also peruse the attached link and see if the itch fits..

Feel better,

Can you say the word "doctor?"   This is the only type of question that I read and think "why the hell you asking her this?"

A rash, a red thing, a bump, it's swollen, it fell off - how in the world can anyone tell you what that could be other than a doctor who examines you?  Huh?!!!

GO TO  A DOCTOR!

Or send me $2398 and a description and I'll give you the diagnosis.

ChannelGuy aka "Internet Doc"

maybe she has "the sight"  you know all she has to do is touch the screen and she sees all ...like her own little crystal ball of sorts.
Come to think of it, I hope not she'd know I am naked then.  (I better get dressed just in case)

or, wait, don't stop.  No....on second thought, stop.   Hold on!  Pictures please!
I'm "almost there!"

feel free to strip down unless you have this "unsightly red area down there" that you don't want to go get checked out... then you'd better keep your clothes on.
