My epiphany came early.

I came to the realization 25+ years ago that whether it's dinner and a show and drinks and... OR X-amount up-front in cash you're paying for it either way. In my experience I've found cash is truly king.

Who among hobbyists has made the claim they would never pay for play? I did a few years ago and when I first dabbled in the hobby, I didn't do much research and as fate usually prevails, I was sorry that I hadn't. Then once on a trip to LA, I met a friend of a friend and she turns out to be provider and she was not shy about telling me what she was all about and told me that on this night, nothing was going to happen because she was only doing a favor for our mutual friend who was called out of town on biz herself. A little shocked that my friend looked out for me in this way, I began a financial relationship and she set me straight on lots of things I took for granted about hobbying. What I learned most about her and the hobby was that it was not just about the obvious and that price and value are not the same thing. Looking back on this, I could have save lots of time and money if I'd only looked for more than a place to park it. I, like most of you still get horny at the wrong time, but I am glad to say that even the worse I've been with over the pass few years are 10 times better than when I was just looking to get laid by some nameless, faceless "maybe hottie" whose picture I couldn't get over. So even as I read these pages, I know that there is a price and a payment and the two are not the same. Either you pay for what you really want or you PAY for not getting it. There is still plenty of GOLD in the hills if you look for it.

I would have a comment....  but sheese, the run on sentences, the fragmentation of concepts and the vaugue hint to sarcasm are a bit much.  I have not been this confused since college and I took a course in "southern literature" and we discussed Faulkner...  who knew he was still alive.
