In fact she had to cancel a couple of appointments because of the cold (I believe her story and have no reason to doubt it).
I'm thinking of doing something for her like sending her flowers to make her feel better. I'd like to bounce some ideas off of you great gents and ladies. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
What soup would you like if you were sick?
I'm a vegetarian so I make vegetable soup with miso.
You can make chicken soup if you like. In any case, I like to put a lot of ginger and ground pepper in it; it makes me sweat.
(I'll give you the recipe of my vegetable soup if you ask.)

it's really kinda dumb for anybody to think they are gonna teach or learn (a) emotional rapport or (b) cooking, from a net board. This is the sort of thing that can only be done efficiently in person, and precisely where the net as a tool misguides us.
Meanwhile, laughing at our situation is probably a good alternative treatment.
My guess (and hope) is that they will learn by experience. You have to keep an open mind to learn - but never so open that the wind whistles right through.
