The age varies by each individual hotel.
Local ad states laws are inane as well but each hotel brand (on average 21$ has a requirement then under each hotel brand the franchised hotel has a rule/policy in place which is typically age 25.
1 and some 2 star franchised hotels haw lower age requirements..typically 18-19
A good number of hotels require a credit card...hmmm

That being said, you're a smart cookie..!

Seriously, who's renting the room when she's not old enough to do so?...there's yor sign!

What are the hotel age checkin requirements ? Are they generally 18 and older or are different for each city (regulations) ? I have heard some are high as 25.

Just wondering because how are some of these ladies able to check in unless they have pimp or agency checking them in.

article that shows you different types of standards as it relates to age, and booking a hotel room. I'll summarize it. Basically, the legal age is 18 for booking a hotel. Depending on the region, area, state, county, or place, they can set their own standards of the legal age. For example, a county sets their age at 20, so, all of their hotels in that county requires the person to be 20.

Another factor is the type of hotel. That is, a low budget, mid budget, or high budget hotel. Most low budget hotels requires you to be 18, some mid budget requires you be 21, and some high budget requires you to be 25. The hotels that require a person to be 25 want to attract a different demographics than those requiring an 18 year old.

18 is old enough to rent a hotel room in most US cities. However, some hotels may restrict access to rooms with liquor in the minibars/courtesy refrigerators or where there is gambling to those guests 21 and over.  And yes, there are some cases in which hotels set the bar at 25 years old. Usually, these are higher end hotels that don't want "spring breaker" overload or want more family style/mature guests.

Personal thought: If I am concerned that a prospective date is not old enough to rent a room I don't believe I'd interested in meeting her.  That's part of my own risk management protocol.  (See: Lawrence Taylor)

Some hotels in Boston say you are required to be 21 to check it, but they would accept 18. I guess it depends on which room you reserve since within the same hotel there are rooms with or without a bar.

....never had a problem @ check-in at any hotel under age 21 .... definitely not an issue being over 21.  Never had a pimp or an agency.

having sex with a provider in her hotel room is a very poor defense and will not save you from spending a long time behind bars.

Most usually have pimps rent them the room anyway or have an older mother hen (female friend of pimp) type that will get them the room.

Best to do your research on TER first or leave if they seem too young. You can always ask for an ID to prove age but realistic looking fake ID's are not that hard to get. I know many escorts who have one.

the law nor is playing stupid or any other attempt to avoid any charges/arrest/conviction regardless of what age you thought she was.!
Put it this way...if you has to question it then you should question yourself becaue it sounds as if you're teetering on the edge of risky behavior...regardless.

In our region the Feds are watching the hotels for under age stuff. So you all have some good points. Better safe to avoid at all costs.

it'll help you underhand the magnitude of and devastation from pimps.
Inform others as well..!!

but many hotels avoid any guest under 21 because of potential liability issues with under age drinking and such. Exceptions usually exist and can be made in some circumstances.

Many cities and states also have their own ordinances that may take precedence over federal law. Some cities will give hotels broader latitude with age.

My experience is that most hotels don't have a hard and fast rule with anyone over 18 unless local or state law dictates otherwise. Many hotels also are a private business and "management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason." I still see that sign in many hotels even the 5 start ones.
