Because it takes so damn long to open each post, some of us just hold down the Control key and then click - click - click - open a whole bunch of posts in new tabs ... w/o reading the subject lines.  And the "eom" comments usually have to be read in sequence anyway. That's how I try to read posts in proper sequence (since flat mode is strictly chronological).

TER is making changes to the web site (the Beta). I think it tries to display posts and replies in an easier to read (properly threaded) order.  I still don't like the Beta.

It seems some of the posters on these boards type "EOM" or "-e-" at the end of their messages, whereas some do not.

My question to the "eom-ers" is, why do you do it? It seems like an extra step.

If you want to see if the handle  has reviews (monger or escort) you open the post. Or if you want to see if the post is by an alias, you open the post.

Like any other normal forum, I always read things in flat mode, tree mode is a pain in the ass to be clicking on every single post.

It means end of message. Nothing more to it. Not a extra step. Just that someone wanted to get there word out and not in a full paragraph so it's end of message.
