Is the dosage too high? If you don't really it, you might be able to get by by cutting it into a quarter dose.
I'm also 43 and diabetic and I experience ED. I take 100mg of V and it works okay but it doesn't compare to Caverject. Instant 4 hr steel like hardon (ouch!) I agree about being "loadeed for bear" when I see a provider I want to make Damn sure I get my money's worth. I've used Viagara as well as Cialis and like them both. One thing I did'nt like about Cialis was it does not mix well with a few beers!(Drives my heart rate through the roof!!)When I've taken Viagara I've been told by 3 providers that they'd had enough and were getting very raw inside. I've been using vitamin V for over 6 years now. I first started with my last SO. She didn't have a clue what was going on, but couldn't believe the quality of my erections. I told her it was the ginseng I was taking. Lol. It continued over to hobbying.
My impression is that V is "Da Bomb!" I have tried both Levitra and Cialis. Levitra seems to run a close second to V, but since I experience no side effects from either one, I stick with V. Cialis did not provide me with that quick feeling of capability. I only tried it once, so I can't say it isn't effective over it's advertised period. My analogy would be that Cialis is for the entire ballgame. V is calling up A-ROD in the bottom of the ninth, behind by three, with the bases loaded.
One thing I should mention! More is definately not better! V should be used in the correct dosage. It's much cheaper to buy 100 mg tabs and cut them in half. It's all about body weight. If you're 160lbs or less, a half tab is plenty. I suspect anyone over 200lbs should go with the whole dose. In between? Experiment!
I once saw a provider whom I was really stoked about meeting. I decided to use a whole tab, using the logic that if some was good, more would be better. Big mistake! the efficacy of the baseball analogy may be correct. It's just the first thing that came to mind. Being a retired submariner, I have read all of Tom Clancy's books. Let's just say that "V" as opposed to the alternatives, is the difference between have a warshot loaded, and opening the outer doors. The former is being ready. The later is making a committment to engage the enemy! Lol.
I prefer Cialis because I often book overnights with escorts. Viagra is great for a 1 hour meeting but I agree with the previous poster that it can prevent ejaculations.
I've been purchasing Cialis from a "On-Line" pharmacy for a year with no problems. But, recently I got spoofed by another company. The medication was counterfit. It looked exactly like Cialis physicially but the results were poor. After using 5 of the fake pills I was unsure if it was me or the medication. So, I tried a sample of Cialis from my doc and everyting was as usual, as well as the stuffiness and headache.
A bad result with any of these ED drugs could arise from counterfits.
Periodically I'll set up an overnighter or 48 hour visit with a PSE and Cialis works very well in that setting. Otherwise, I like Levitra for the 'regular' 2-3 hour visit.
Nothing more to add about the efficacy or side effects, but it's also a confidence builder. Sometimes, whether due to a stressful day, or nervousness, you can't be all you want to be. I find that Viagra and Levitra can provide an insurance policy to a normally functioning unit.

If you don't suffer from ED, then the ONLY effect any of these meds will have is psychological, aka, confidence builders. That's been proven in clinical trials. However, if folks who don't suffer from ED get better wood from the psych effects, so be it. I get better wood knowing how much money I saved on pills I don't need.
. . . but the conclusion is not consistent with physiology and personal experience. A hard erection is not an all-or-none phenomenon; some erections are harder than others and some last longer than others. The inhibition of PDE-5 improves erections; it does not cause the erections.
