This is not just on General, but S&P, Newbie, etc.
I see a new post go up. I start typing a reply. I submit my reply. It goes up as the first or second reply. A few hours later, it shows up as the seventh or ninth or 12th reply with a posting time later than replies 1-6, 1-8, 1-11 ...
It can get confusing and many of us somewhat reliable posters look like time-wasting duplicators who didn't read the earlier posts before posting our own comments. I have to admit to mild annoyance when I see identical info posted repeatedly hours or days after an answer has been posted but was not read.
I don't know what slows down posts going up (some of mine go into the random moderation queue, too). I think it's gotten worse with both old and new beta running simultaneously.
Not a big deal. Just an observation.
I'll be watching a thread and then I'll come back to it hours later and notice the same thing. It's rather odd. Hopefully it resolves itself in time.
a queue at the moderator function when you have a good topic that is going to generate a lot of responses, but I haven't found it to be too bad during business hours, only in the evenings on the West Coast when its after midnight in the East and it seems like there is only one moderator working and covering ALL of the boards. Still, even at night, it seems the GD board gets a little priority from the moderators over the others. Probably due to the higher traffic here.
I'm still getting moderated even though it's been about 2 1/2 years since I've registered and I should have enough forum posts to get a gauge on my interactions on the boards. (I think!) Oh, well!
You have to request it.
I have at least one person I communicate with via PM where he mail is often delayed hours .
In more then one case his second mail beat his first by more then two hours and his second one to me did not come to me in under two hours
We have had it in reverse but not as bad
It seems like every one else is at least reasonably fast
Have other had this issue
