Thank the heavens McNabb is finally gone from Philly!!!!

For whatever reason the national sports media just doesn't get it.

1- He is way past his prime. His best performances (going beyond stats) were when he actually ran. He hasn't done that in years.

2- He overplays to his right, allowing defenses to only have to cover little more than half a field.

3- His fatal flaw, well documented, is that he only throws when guys are either absolutely open, causing him to gun the ball too hard or not time a guy's momentum so he is always throwing behind the reciver.

4- His YAC stinks. Yards After Catch. Kolb was much better at hitting guys in stride for more YAC.

Kolb will finally have the benefit of a full preseason with the first team. For those who don't know, Eagles backups get almost zero reps with first team during the week prior to games.

The Eagles, should they use their many picks on defense, should be in the hunt again for the NFC East title. They'll finish ahead of the 'Skins.

Yes, I know the NFL is still several months away, but Espn.com is reporting that Donovan McNabb to Washington is all but a done deal. The trade would send the 'Skins 2nd round pick to Philly, and the Eagles would also get draft choices in 2011, that is, if we have football. Somehow I can't see the Eagles trading McNabb to another team in their division.

Done deal.  Eagles get a 2nd round pick this year and a performance-based 3rd or 4th rounder in 2011.

They must have been really desperate to get rid of him to trade him within the division. Can't remember the Redskins being in any of the trade conversations. Most of them were about the Vikings, San Francisco came up once or twice.

i believe the redskins will win the nfc east. I feel the cowboys and giants are over rated. Mcnab will be on a mission to prove the eagles wrong, plus he has a great coach in shanahan.i feel this is great for the nfl.

following year?  Must be something to this that has not been made public.  Kolb is not that good to start for 16 games and lead the Eagles to any where near a title.

1. McNabb IS getting old. But I agree that it seems pretty cheap or a proven QB though not cheap for a team like the Redskins who have so many holes.

2. I wonder what Campbell's value is now?

a replacement at QB-Campbell played like Montana between the 20's and Byron Leftwich in the Red Zone-Skins are bad and will need much more help than McNabb-

The eagles took a big gamble i predict they will be 8-8. take out those 3, redskins go 9-7 they have a shot to win the division. trust me a great coach like shanahan can turn this season around like parcells and holmgren has done in mediocre teams.i am a some what giants fan but giants will go backwards. the defense has faltered, injuries, age, it will taKE THE giants 2 years to regroup, eli doesnt impress me,i don't consider him a great quaterback.

If McNabb had gone to Oakland they would have won several more games this coming year.  Our first round draft choice from them next year would have been later in the round.
