I get that some of the things said to these performers were ridiculously rude, and that when someone's doing something as transgressive as porn, you don't expect the normal prejudices to attach to the business. but it is a business. Porn companies are making product for people's fetishes, and those are extremely varied.  
   
 Some people have no interest in seeing "insert XYZ group here" have sex. Some want only to see ABC group having sex, or shaving, or giving a handjob, or stomping on small animals. If we're not supposed to judge people's fetishes, why must porn companies hire XYZ group when they know their market doesn't want to see it? It's tough enough to make people pay for porn, inserting groups consumers don't want to see makes it that much more difficult.  
   
 That said, companies can definitely be more sensitive to performers. It's as simple as "we're only casting for ABC group right now; we'd be happy to have you when we're shooting for XYZ group."
