...really think about emigrating; you're dragging down the collective IQ of America

What do you all think ? Has abortion impacted the economy in a good way or bad way ?

The news media is not talking about is the millions of abortions that have been going on since the 1970s after abortion was legalized in the US. Those people are not around to be consumers. They are not paying social security taxes and medicare taxes.

Seems like we need immigrates coming into the US to keep the economy from collapsing....

When you're talking economics, you're talking about a lot of crappy research and flawed analysis which is why there are so many disagreements. But there have been many studies and 10x as many opinions.

And I don't see any evidence that the US needs more immigrants under any circumstances.

He's assuming that aborted kids - if not aborted - would contribute substantially to the economy.  I suggest, that on whole, on average, unwanted unloved babies/kids become less than solid contributors to the economy.

Actually, the economy would be BETTER if we had MORE abortions!  We have WAY TOO MANY babies/kids that were unwanted and low income people couldn't afford/get abortions. And low income people do a shitty job "raising" these kids. What's the cost of Medicaid and Welfare for caring for these kids?  (The key word is "unwanted").

And fucking Republicans who don't wanna fund Planned Parenthood NEVER volunteer to adopt these kids.  Let's do some quick arithmetic here.  The cost of an abortion is ~500$.  The Welfare cost of caring for this baby/kid for 18 years is something like $50K.  No-brainer.

Again, "unwanted" is the key word.  Please don't suggest that I hate babies/kids - I have 3 of my own - and please don't suggest that I'm suggesting that we round up these unwanted kids and deport 'em - that's NOT what I'm saying.

On a pure economic basis, the U.S. would be $better off if some of these unwanted babies/kids woulda been aborted.

The moral discussion is a totally separate issue.  I happen to be Pro Choice.

Maybe one of them was destined to invent something or come with a cure to a disease.

I didn't say "that they would be all bad!"

I said: "I suggest, that on whole, on average, unwanted unloved babies/kids become less than solid contributors to the economy."

What I'm saying is that the $cost to society of these UNWANTED kids is HHUUUUGE.

emotionally and financially by the parents, leaving the state, a majority of the time, to do the financial supporting of them.
