I just wanted to get my mind clear of the situation. I'm not even thinking about it anymore. Since I like to help people I hope this post helps any newbie, man or woman, who may encounter this kind of thing in the future.

First of all, I would like to start off by saying I'm not really a newbie as I have been in the hobby a couple of years now but I always get better responses to questions on this board.

I have seen a well reviewed provider a couple of weeks ago and it was one of the better appointments I have had. At the end of the appointment she talked a little about a serious problem she is having. She has been saving up for a life saving surgery on the 18th of this month. A week ago I got an email from her saying she needs my help which I know she has sent to other guys she has seen. She is well short of the amount she needs. She is from another country and in that particular country they wont do the surgery because its too risky. The story is she has to got to Germany and insurance wont pay in that country so she needs 25,000. The story was consistent with what we talked about at the appointment and was very detailed. I immedietly sent 100 and hoped all would be well.

A couple of days later I emailed her and asked how she was doing and she said " not good, I got a little but people aren't helping too much. With the money the gave and what I have I still need 20,000". I wanted to help more so I offered to give more and even possibly go on TER and explain and see if more people may help. Initially she said ok but the to make sure I wasn't being lied to I asked if she could email me something type of medical document which I'm sure she has. I said I wouldn't show it on TER or any of her pics. Just her name and address where people can send money. She then said "I cant send that and not to put her story on TER. if you want to help you don't need proof and if people who know me don't help, people who don't know me wont help." I can understand she may have felt disrespected but if this was me it would be no question. Maybe she didn't take me seriously or felt helpless.  So I left it there.

I have been considering sending her one more email stating how serious I am about helping her if she can show hard evidence this is not a game. I want to tell her that I have a full time job and a savings and willing to go on this site or facebook or hell even walk the streets if she can tell me the name, address and number of the doctor she plans on seeing or already has seen about this issue so I can research it to see if the doctor is legit. I want to ask her to give consent to the doctor ( I will give her my name) for me to call the doctor to ask if she has been seen or plans to be seen for this problem and I want to help with the financing. All I need is those 2 questions answered and I will be willing to further help.

Its hard thinking I may help save somebodies life and not do everything in my power but I need PROOF. I think she would get better response anywhere if she is willing to give up proof. Its not embarrising. My question is.. has anybody experienced this before? Should I chalk it up to be a scam? Most importantly.. if me or her were to start a thread requesting this donation would we get in trouble?

  Your input is greatly appreciated!

You know when a person asks for a loan be prepared to not get your money back majority of the times.
I don't know this story doesn't smell right....sorry.
You met her one time and she is telling you about some life saving surgery where she needs 25k and she can't get it done under insurance because?
I would leave this alone I understand if this was a friend someone you know not a provider you saw one time and she is telling you her business after one appt.
And for you to ask her for proof...well....you see how that went over.
You paid for an appt and sent 100 I would leave it alone but this is just my .02

...to give her a lot of money because the sex was good.  As you say, you haven't verified her condition.  But it seems she recognized your medical condition immediately...you have "sucker" tattooed on your forehead.

Tell her to start a Go Fund Me account.  There's a special account for providers - it's called Go Fuck Me.

These kinds of things are not uncommon, and are usually FOS. Of course you are not obligated to help her.

Common sense huh. It's just hard to get that possibility out of my mind. She did mention she was having symptoms consistent with the condition. I just wanted some feedback and  to vent the situation.

Before you mentioned her refusing to provide proof of her "condition" most people here would give it a 99% chance that she was running a scam. AFTER hearing that she refused to give even the slightest bit of documentation do you REALLY want to know the current odds? lol

I am sure you already knew the answer, and a hundred bucks is a very cheap price to pay for an invaluable lesson in the do's and do not's of the P4P world.

Did I mention she is running a scam on you?  But, for what it's worth, you sound like you have a good heart.
If you want to help people out, consider donating to a food pantry, or one of many reputable charities.

This sounds like a Giant load of Shit.. She has to go to Germany!!! Why ??  Why can't she get it done here in the US? Is she her illegally in the US ? Doesn't she have family to help her out. Just because she gave you details doesn't mean its true
Even if she did give you the doctors name, how do you know you are actually talking to him/her ? There's way too many holes in that story. You obvisouly have a good heart, just be very careful in these situations.

It's not feasible by law fot them to give you any info. And spunds like a scam anyways.

HIPAA wouldnt apply to a german company. (Not that this matters anyway... sounds like a bad idea to give money)

Let's be honest, even close friends and people you trust don't ask for money for a so-called "life saving" operation. It is a scam for sure.

I just wanted to get my mind clear of the situation. I'm not even thinking about it anymore. Since I like to help people I hope this post helps any newbie, man or woman, who may encounter this kind of thing in the future.

I am going to be nice and direct, since this is the newbie board and all...

If she needed "life saving" medical care, there would be no reason why any DR in the USA wouldn't try to save her life. Also there is a thing called insurance that covers at least some of that. Everyone as of current is required to have insurance.

Let's say for whatever reason she just doesn't have insurance, they don't deny life saving measures because you don't have insurance.

So it was BS off the bat. Now she doesn't want to prove her BS is true...

Sorry but if someone is willing to give me a huge chunk of money to "save my life", I'd at least allow them enough access to prove I am not full of it.

You shouldn't be volunteering to post things on the boards for her, especially when she is full of crap. TER is not meant for running scams and all you would be doing is running your own name in the mud. You'd also have plenty of pissed of people who got scammed wanting to get even with you.

Know why she doesn't want to have it posted on the board? She's keeping her scam under wraps so as to hopefully not  have her rep ruined for doing it.

Also dear, you are in the wrong game if you are so willing to hand over all that money to someone you met once.

Because I didn't immediately think it was a scam.

When somebody is asking for financial help out on the streets I give some money to help them. Whether or not they are actually hungry or really they want some alcohol or heroin is not my concern.  What is my concern is that they are human beings who need money more than I do or they wouldn't be standing out in the hot sun or the rain asking for dollars and loose change from strangers. I help because I can afford to help and I want to. What they do with the money after that is up to them.

I think it's very kind and noble of you to want to help this much.

Everyone else is probably right though about this being a scam, though, unfortunately.
