There have been a few posts about this recently.  Join P411 and reach out to Newbie friendly provider seems to be a popular option.  If you do not want to join, then you will most likely need to give up some personal info at an agency or to an Indy.  Or you could start at the beginning, reach out to a provider that is a bit more Newbie friendly, and is used to screening in Newbie friendly manner and build references that way.

Welcome back!

OK, so I haven't been with a provider in quite a long time (at least 10 years).  How can I give references when I've got none?

Thanks in advance.

...Some ladies won't see you without references. Some will want to screen you like a newbie. You can look into joining P411 to get verified. Some ladies will see you with P411 membership only. Some will want you to have P411 OK's from P411 providers. On P411 you can search for newbie friendly providers. They will see you without references but will very likely want extra info.

You can try putting an In Search Of post on your regional board explaining your situation. Ladies may respond and tell you what they need/want to screen you and go from there. I don't recommend seeing a provider that doesn't screen. Look for one whose method works for you.

Needed to add if any of the ladies you would have used for a reference back then are still in the business maybe you could see one  (or two) of them and they could be references for future sessions.

Yea, I know it's kinda dumb, but it was the first thing that popped into my mind.  I'll consider changing.  Thanks.

Oooh! Oooh!

But they were such good natured, friendly guys. Always inadvertently helping the crooks with their scams or robberies. I'll bet they'd even give a lady a ride to her next appointment.

Some throwbacks in time would be welcome.

I am 58 and I only remember it from reruns as the show stopped running in '63.

but I would have to say "most" people of at least fifty have heard of the show "car 54, where are you?"

but in all fairness, I know of the show "Car 54, where are you". Never seen it but it is still referenced around and I am half your age.

A lady in an above post mentioned that she wishes gals would only see guys who have references. While I agree with that, it depends how much you have been in the Hobby. A newbie obviously wouldn't have one, but they can be screened in others ways. If you have been around for awhile, there really isn't a reason not to have a reference. Makes me wonder why no gal will vouch for you. I know, yes some ladies don't give references. I also know some guys have seen gals off of BP who do not partake in screening or TER. After a certain point though, you should have at least a reference.

Yes, newbies can NCNS, as can anyone actually. I'd still give a newbie a chance if he came across right. I think most of us aren't looking for guys who waste time asking a million questions, book, and then NCNS. As long as I feel that you are serious and not a BSC guy, I'd be open to seeing a newbie.

Really, your best bet is seeing your old ladies and update that reference. Most ladies do have a "must have reference" policy. Although some will work with you.

that even being half as old as me, makes you old too. lmao:)

You're options are pretty limited...

1. P411 - some providers will take P411 so long as you have been verified including employment. HOWEVER, some people's P411 accounts have been compromised before even if they have Okay's on P411. Others will only take P411 so long as you have 3 Okay's within a certain time frame. It really just depends.

2. Employment Verification - this is pretty cut and dry. You tell the provider where you work, the phone number to the secretary ( not your direct line), and a reason to call. Then when she calls your place of work, she tells the secretary, "Hi! I'm such and such from (insert random thing here... I also go for personal trainer) and I'm calling to reach (insert name) about their personal training schedule. Can you forward me to them?" Once you are reached, it's up to you if you want to continue the conversation on your work phone or a different method.

3. Alternative Screening - some will use a "meet and greet" situation that is social time only and book at a later time.

You're going to have to research for those that are newbie friendly and be willing to provide some personal information.

I know other people said you shouldn't see providers like that but as long as they have reviews I don't see why not. I know two ladies pretty well who do not require references. I wish that they would. I don't think it safe for them. Plus, half of the people who don't have references end up being a no-show.  But there are ladies who will see you without a reference.

Out of these four options (see the previous post that I'm replying to), I would only accept the first one, a P411 membership,  or number four, come back and see me when you do have a reference.

..."How can I give $5 when I have $0?" ...just like everyone else, you have to start from somewhere. Maybe a provider who welcomes newbies after she screens you otherwise. We have screening tools that doesn't require references.

Alright, I joined P411, which means I at least have an employment reference.  I'll see what happens, but any more advice is welcome.

Thanks to all!
