Its fairly easy to see how that happened

They list different names, links, and phone numbers.  (JK)

Now remember, I am just a mod and have nothing to do with reviews, that is the role of paid TER staff.  I can't even post a review anymore!!!

Keeping that in mind, here is what probably happened:

More than likely, a matching script is used to determine if the new review belongs to an existing profile.  Key fields - like provider name, ad website, personal website, and phone 1 and phone 2, and others, are checked against existing profiles.  #3 would never match the other two, but there is enough common in the other two for a human being to determine that they are the same gal, and enough differences for a computer to say otherwise.

1) I don't know where the newest profile got the Jessica / Valarie linkage, but no favors were done when he entered it.

2) You'll notice that the 2 eros ads appear to be the same, until you see the "www" in one of them.  Of course since it works both with and without the w's no flags are raised, it just looks different to the program.

3) Her eros ad has 3 phone numbers, all of which are listed between the 2 profiles.  But in different positions, they appear to be a point of difference rather than commonality.

I'm with you, the first 2 profiles should be combined under the Jessica profile.  The third one is a hard sell since the phone number and city is different, and the ad website no longer works.

Post your problem reports, and if approved by TER staff (again nothing to do with me), enjoy a couple of free VIP days on TER!

And why is he still not a lawyer?? He's too damn smart NOT to be one.

I see that there are not only different names, but in one case she is latina and the other African-American.

Sometimes escorts do reinvent themselves to an extent.  For example they shift from massage only to GFE, or GFE to BDSM.  Those are legitimate reasons to have two profiles.

Thanks Mr. Fisher and Jazz32, good explanations.

I had script expression matching in the back of my head too, in fact I caught the www and no www in the Eros ad URL earlier too, and that's what I was thinking :).

She's a mixed girl so can pass as African American / Latina. I actually had profile #3 (the one with the broken ad website and what seems to be a retired phone number) under my favorites for a long time and I'm 100% certain it's the same girl. You'll notice that the backpage URL points to Philadelphia, which is where she's from, along with various other commonalities in her description and the reviews in what she does and doesn't do. The reviews in profile #3 suggest that she came outside to meet them, which is exactly what happened with me (seems like a common thing she does).

I'll fill out a problem report. But, maybe she wanted to have different profiles (as mrfisher suggested), and in that case, perhaps I should just leave it alone.

That's frustrating not only in terms of profiles being split, but if there is only one profile which has the wrong number due to the original person's typo that doesn't get corrected, then a search on the phone number will come up empty.

There should be more basic fact checking like that when a profile is created for a new review. Its easy enough to verify since a website has to be included.

Looks like one of these TER id's is no good. The other 2 are live ID numbers. Why would there be a problem if a provider had more than one profile?
