I hear you. But I've had a few responses from them like...

...that and it just leaves me shaking my head.

Hello,

Trying to post an ad to the regional ad board in Washington DC.
On and off getting denied, the reason: visiting dates are allowed in visiting ads.

But as far as I see almost all the ads on the board are from visiting ladies, with dates!

If there is a separate place for visiting ads, where is it located? I can't find it.

Thank you for your advice, all help appreciated!

Nicolette

...ad posting guidelines. Read them and make sure you are following all of them.

You can use Contact Us (bottom of any page) to ask TER what specifically is wrong with the ads they are rejecting.

Looks like the mystery solved.
I'm trying to post on the ad board.

Contacted TER, they linked my username with my TER id, which is a good thing.

The traveling dates where needed in the subject line of the ad.
Now I submitted a new one, waiting for approval.

(Excuse me for typos/bad spelling, English is my second language)

Thanks for the help!

Can you show us what you submitted?

Subject: LA lady visiting DC March 1 - March 6
Message: Hello DC! I will be visiting ...

   link URL:
   link title:

The linked site must meet their rules, too, but that's not the rule they quoted you. I guess the least disputable link is just your TER Profile link:

   link title: My TER Profile

There have been quite a few complaints about getting Local Ads posted within the past couple of months. My thought is that there might be new TER staff erring on interpretation of the rules and that, eventually, the ads to get posted.

Good luck.

Put your location (Tysons, DuPont Circle, or wherever) and then your dates right in the title subject line.  Your start date and end date need to be there, not just in the body of your ad (I've messed up on that one lol).

If you're not actually "visiting" but are based there for now, then don't write "visiting" just write "available in" and then the neighborhood or area where you are.

Be sure not to write any words with ALL caps.  They can sometimes be real strict about this, so write D.C. (as opposed to DC) just to be safe.

I've included a link directly to the Washington, D.C. Ad Board just so you're certain you are posting in the right place.

I'm happy to help, so please PM or email me if your ad is still removed.

Debra, thanks for the advise.

Yes, obviously the problem is the missing dates in the subject line.

Now it's rejected again because that's my second ad in 7 days.

At least now  I know how to do it next time :)

Thanks for all your help!

Nicolette

...TER couldn't give you better instruction than "visiting dates are allowed in visiting ads". That doesn't tell you anything useful related to why the your ads were rejected. I'm sorry you had to deal with that.

Come on TER.  Surely you can do better than that.

I'm glad Debra was able to help.

Yeah, I agree someone could have been more helpful on that but:
"The only exception to the above rules is - when touring, providers may also post one ad per week on the board for the city they will be visiting to announce their visit. **The dates of the visit should be included in the subject line of the ad.** This ad should be city specific." [** added]

And the start of the instructions mentions any ads not following the guidelines can be removed by the admins if they wish.

TER's response should have said, "visiting dates are REQUIRED in visiting ads."
If TER's tedponse did actually say "allowed" then that was an error, and they should do better than that.
However, we don't know if Nicolette quoted TER's exact words, or if she paraphrased and she used the wrong word. She did admit that English is her second language.

At least she figured out the issue. :)

TER's response exactly:

"Visiting dates are needed in the visiting ad. Please review guidelines here: "

And they included the link to the ad posting guidelines.

The reason for my confusion was that I included the dates: I didn't realized they are needed in the subject line of the ad!

And yes, it's in the guidelines + they where nice enough to explain it to me in the email support.

Now I posted one in Virginia, got approved, so Hallelujah !

Thanks again guys :)

Love ya

are local in DC you don't have to put dates, but if you are visiting you must put dates.
If you are visiting other cities (Maryland, Virginia, New York, etc board) those dates cant be the same. They can't overlap.

We looked at all the posts and the feedback from the provider.

Her posts was for an ad in the DC Regional Ad Board, with no visiting dates.

She misquoted the message she was receiving when she posted this DB post. The message did not say 'visiting dates are allowed in visiting ad'.

The reason she was given in the post denial was "Visiting dates are needed in a visiting ad. Please review guidelines here. ".

When she did the contact us she even said she received this message and we explained to her that, as her profile indicated she was in LA,  an ad on the DC board would need the visiting dates (as the unapproved reason stated and she stated in the FB).
