I generally book two hour appts and tip about 50 an hour, and the ladies usually light up and get a little excited so I sometimes wonder if that's the norm
I have found that if you give the ladies the tip in the beginning its a bit of an ice breaker
and that way they know they are getting taken care of and they seem to reciprocate

I tip between $20-$100 depending on the service for agency employees. But do you tip the independent?

A local independent lady has no real overhead over and above normal living costs other than promotion and she can charge whatever she wants.
A local lady that works through an agency decides that she derives some benefit by doing so - more appointments for example with non-regular customers - and shifts some ancillary costs to the agency. She probably has some say but cannot entirely contro the amount of her fee.

When ladies visit from out of town (both agency and independent) there is a different dynamic. Does the independent lady that has to cover all of her expenses deserve to be treated differently from the agency lady that has some or all of her expenses paid for but has to give some of her fee to the agency?

Too complicated for me. I used to tip only agency girls but decided that did not necessarily make much sense. So then I tipped no one and decided that did not necessarily make much sense.

Everyone is different. I do not expect anything, other than a true gentleman at heart. Sometimes little gifts are so cute and that is always a treat.
I always bring a little gift, maybe something mentioned on the web site or something else that catches my eye. And if we run over on time, then a $$ tip b/c time is money.
I always bring a small gift... a scented candle, a crystal votive, something like that. I also tip in the $50 range for exceptional service with a $350/hr provider. When I see a pornstar, I don't tip at all, because the exceptional service is implicit (and to me, included) in the two to three times the average fee. When you're paying $1500/hr. You BETTER have an incredible experience or you wasted your money.

I always tip agency providers. They amount varies wildly, dependant on the quality of service. Usually between 10% and 25%. For indys, I never tip and, except for flowers, I don't bring gifts. Based on what I am reading, it looks like I will need to change my practice.
Between an agency lady and an indy? Do we not offer similiar companionship? Donating extra or gifts are not expected, but now I'm curious how gents decide to split us up in two groups.
Agency providers don't have the option of shifting the rates around to suit the demand in the market and get to their desired price point. Accordingly, I feel that an indy should determine the price she wants me to pay and if I like her and can afford it, I will gladly pay it. At an agency, each provider is different, but can not unilaterally diferentiate their pricing so I tip in order to provide adequate compensation for different levels of service.
dallas..probably becuase we know all the money doesn't go to them and so be it..to put it another way..if an indy is at 350 and an agency is at 350.same price point..but if the agency girl is only getting lets say 250 of it,some of guys tend to give a little more as that goes in her pocket..just feel its fair..

At the going rate that is charged.... a tip is not necessary regardless of agency or indy IMHO. Give me a break. Bringing a gift is a nice thought, but cmon how many of you are earning $$-$$$$ per hour? Please.
I feel really cheap now. When i went to Julie's, I usually tipped .3-.4 for the hour. Since then, I usually don't tip indy girls or agency girls. Don't get me wrong, I always treat providers with utmost respect and usually bring flowers. And I'd like to tip them, but I don't make six figures (not even high five figures), so the rate alone is usually all I can afford.

Sometimes when reading some of the reviews you can tell that the customer and the provider got off on the wrong foot, a decent tip would have prevented that
also how many times have you seen the guys complaining about the chick being mechanical.
really in my opinion what the provider needed was a little motivation
when spending 300 to 500 an hour maybe another 50 to 100 bucks could make the difference between a good time and a GREAT time
I do know one thing for sure, the providers generally treat me very good. they want me to come back
I try to make the time special by bringing a nice bottle of wine matched to her preference. I might bring chocolate covered strawberries. If she is from out of town, I have bring might bring a Zagat guide and other welcome to NYC items. I feel it is important to invest in our experience and I go out of my way to make her feel special.
Though I do tip an $50 per hour, the ladies always appreciate the foreplay.
