DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!

It takes less than a minute.

Work this out as you read ......

Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!

This is not one of those waste of time things, its fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to go out to eat.
(More than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1756. If you haven't, add 1755.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number.
(How many times you want to go out to restaurants in a week.)

The next two numbers are YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2006) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.

Then I checked, and noticed that I used the number for not having had a birthday this year, instead of having a birthday.  Then it did work.  Amazing!!!

Let x be an integer with x greater than or equal to 1, but less than 10.

Step 1: x

Step 2: 2x

Step 3: 2x+5

Step 4: 50*(2x+5) = 100x + 250

Step 5: 100x+2006 (if already had bday); 100x+2005 (if no bday yet)

Step 6: 100x + (2006 - Year of Birth) OR 100x + (2005 - Year of Birth)

Step 7: 100x + AGE

So you have 100*x where x = 1,2, . . ., or 9. So 100x = 100, 200, . . . , or 900. Thus the first digit of the three digit number must necessarily be the number you originally picked. The next two will have to be your age.

This will fail if a person is 100+ years old, however. Also, next year you can do this with 1757 and 1756.

You give me too much credit. I have to unzip my fly to count to 11. ;)
