Your texts are not an issue as far as LE is concerned.  If you get busted offering money for sex to an undercover LE posing as an escort it doesn't matter what is in your cellphone.  Yeah, they may take it and get the texts and even offer them in evidence -- but you are busted anyway, so the texts are essentially irrelevant to your risk.

As far as a wife or steady girlfriend, however, yeah texts can be bad news if they find them.  They don't even have to be salacious.  Any sort of text to an unknown woman will bring out the frying pan.

So, I understand the theory behind being cautious about texting... you don't want to leave a traceable record, etc.

But I'm curious if anyone has actually experienced the negative consequences of texting as a hobbyist or provider.

I just don't feel like it is something that will come back to haunt me.  I don't know though, am I just being naive and should be really worried about it?

If you're single and living alone, texting with a provider shouldn't be a problem for you.

If you are in a serious relationship, your SO might see those text messages from a provider on your phone, especially if you live together.

One time I nearly got in trouble at home because I got a follow-up text from a provider at 11:15 PM on a weeknight. My gf wanted to know who was texting me that late.

You should worry, every text message is being stored on a server somewhere.  If LE really wanted to enforce prostitution laws every single one of us will be in jail.

Aod do you make sure to clear the call record and texts off of it once done with a session?

And turn it off and stash it when you're not using it.  And yes delete all usage often.  Wish/hope
providers delete all texts and emails often too.

from a providers stand on it I have had a few run ins with LE and I'm not sure how things work in Minnesota but the police took my phone and looked in it and in my other situation me having my texts proving that all I agreed to was my time helped me be able have my charges dropped to a lesser one and avoid any real punishment but a fine and community service. I think its more just being careful what u say and how u say it and keeping your texting simple and to the point and deleting is good to unless it can save u as it did in my case.
