LOL....I am a Florida girl born and raised so I am used to it I guess. I do enjoy the cooler weather though!

I am looking to come back to Bloomington at that time....will the weather be somewhat decent? I can tolerate cold but prefer no snow.

Winters here aren't as long or harsh as they were in the past, but you could still see some snow in a normal April. Odds are, it won't be more than an inch or two, and less than a 20% chance of any snow in early April. By late April, maybe a 5% chance of snow. In early April, you are likely to still see some snow on the ground from earlier in the winter. Some parking lots have huge piles of plowed snow that don't completely melt until late May.

This winter has been relatively mild so far, and we are going to see high temperatures in the 40s this weekend. It wouldn't surprise me if we got zero snow in April this year.

We can get snow in April but it melts pretty quickly.

I'd bring a coat to be on the safe side but you can probably skip the heavy duty winter gear unless you really dislike cold; it probably won't be that warm by then.

A really general rule of thumb is that Mother's Day is generally considered safe to do summer planting as we rarely have a hard freeze after that, so April can be a little bumpy with the temp. Daytime is generally 50s and 60s but night it can dip below freezing.

But we've had blizzards in April and 90 degrees. Sometimes right after one another. It's just how MN rolls.

Thanks for the weather info. I was there in October and that wasn't bad but I am sure the weather declined pretty quickly after that.

I still had flowers blooming outside my home around Nov. 20.  We had an unusually long growing season last year, about six weeks longer than normal.  And there's word on a weak El Niño headed our way, so you may get to break out your shorts when you're here in April.  (I get the shorts out when it's above 40, but I'm one of those crazy Minnesotans, ya you betcha.)

I remember it well, I was driving south the day it hit.

Snow Storms and Tons of snow in a long time..
very mild winters... its so weird
But I am not complaining...
Pushing that snow blower around sucks lol

I miss the big snow
but I am definitely over the cold temps

Came to FL in October... Sticky....
I hate feeling like you have to take 3/4/6 showers in 1 dang day lol

I remember when I went down to Florida in 2002 to work in the Everglades for part of a season.  When I left Minnesota, it was 20 below, and when I got to Florida, they were having a "cold snap" of 40 degrees.  I was walking around in jeans and a t shirt, and people in their heavy coats and ear muffs were staring at me LOL!
