Sinister?

Would you mind explaining what you mean by that?

I'm glad you chimed in as I was actually wondering if men of color besides Asian/Pacific Islander guys are going to see the K-girls, but apparently not.

Also- I say 'black' because 'men of color' is too broad/vague, and not all black men are of African descent, especially in a place as diverse as LA.

I am genuinely curious. I've had one black man contact me since I started providing, and he never followed through. I see many men of color (mostly Asian, but some Latino men) and I'm very open to race/ethnicity, but after talking to a couple other local providers about this, it seems that black men in LA just don't really hobby. I KNOW there are plenty of black men in this city with money, so what gives? Is P4P just not as common in the black community as, say, going to strip clubs? I get lots of attention from black men in my civvie life, so I know it's not my appearance or body type.

Insights? Observations? Experiences? (Any black hobbyists on the board?)

It really does not feel complete without the contribution and shared exepeiences of a community that reflects the multi ethnic , multiracial multicultural  make up of Angelenos. It seems apparent most of the guys who contribute are either Caucasians  or Asian and Pacific American.

According to the K-dolls most of their clients are made up of Asians and Caucasians. So I hope the lack of AFrican American is due to taste rather than some sinister reason, and that the hobbying need of African Americans are fulfilled in deferential forums.

...the L.A. Weekly.  I think TER advertised in places like the Howard Stern show and Playboy.  Perhaps TER isn't making enough of an effort to make African Americans aware of its existence.

Maybe Bond could report on the number of black men at the Meet & Greets, but demographics is not what he's really there for, lol.

Years ago, there were a couple of very active African American hobbyists on the board, often engaged in discussions affecting them as black men.

As far as Harp's comments on K-girls not having African American clients, I can't say it's sinister but I do know that recent immigrants from many countries have a preconceived notion and are afraid of black people based on reporting they heard in their home countries before coming to America.

There is still latent hostility in L.A. between the Korean community and the African American community and that may be the reason for the lack of black clients among K-girls.

Unfortunately you are correct in your assesment regarding AA and the korean community in general. The latent animosity being due to what happened during the LA riots. I had a korean buddy who's familly owned a store and it was looted. Ever since then he has harbored ill will. Not a good thing I know but ultimately, his dad felt betrayed by the community and has held onto that view.

...a Korean store owner killed a 15 year old girl and was given probation and a $500. fine.  Tensions were already simmering over this when the riots started.

Yes I remember that as well. Two unfortunate incidents that resulted in racial tensions that unfortunately scarred LA very deeply. I remember it happening like 2 or 3 weeks after the Rodney King Beating. Wow, I was still in high School.....

To be honest, I have been a bit discouraged from setting up times to see some of the lovely girls on this site, but the past few dates I tried to set up, I was shot down because of my ethnicity. I have been meaning to write a post on this board asking about the ethnic preferences of some of the ladies. I have been in the hobby off and on since I was 19 (I am in my 30's now) and up until last year my ethnicity was never an issue. I was in contact with a provider on here, and they cancelled the appointment due to me being black. Just wondering if it is just preference the provider has or not. Any input would be appreciated.

I was thinking about mentioning the obvious -- that many ladies won't see black men -- but I didn't want to be accused of making a racist comment. I think it sucks, but I've heard many ladies say they won't accept black clients. One well-reviewed Vegas provider told me she walked out on a guy because he didn't tell her he was black. As soon as she saw him, she turned around and left.

I am using my alias here because I don't want to cast a shadow on any of the ladies I have reviewed. But the fact is, I've heard it from multiple ladies, including, yes, even one black provider. Black lady who won't see black guys. I am not making that up.

I'd love to hear from a provider -- use an alias if you need to -- to shed some light on this. Why refuse black clients? Is it a size issue? I suppose I could understand some of the smaller Asian ladies not being able to handle anything over 7 or 8 inches. (Hey, stereotypes exist for a reason!)

Since I am in the minority apparently I will share my story with you all. Hopefully this will shed some light on any questions you may have. As I stated in my last post, I was introduced to the hobby by an old friend of mine. He took me to an AMP for my 19th birthday. I was hooked. He then "showed me the ropes" of hobbying, and how to stay safe in this industry.

I've seen women of all nationalities, colors, shapes, and sizes. From my 19th birthday until last year, the color of my skin was never an issue when it came to providers. I saw one provider's ad on cityvibe last March and decided to drive from my apartment in Saugus to her incall in Long Beach. She had reviews on another site and TER, so I knew she was safe. I get to her incall location and ring the doorbell with no answer. I ring the doorbell again and she calls my cell telling me that she doesn't see black men. I was agitated and asked her why she did not say anything sooner, or post on her ad that she didn't. She told me that I didn't sound "black" on the phone.

The next rejection I got was from a provider on here (I will leave her name out of this post). I posted on here for a provider I was looking for and she fit the bill. We exchanged e-mails and she found out my ethnicity through her screening process. Again, nothing on her ad or website stating that she will not see black men. Since then I have tried to see 2 other providers and I asked if being black is an issue, and it has been.

My 2 cents on the issue is this; the majority of independent providers will not state in their ads that they do not see black men, because they do not want to be labeled as "bigoted" or "racist". I understand that everyone has their own biases and preferences, but I would prefer that a provider save myself (and them in the process) time and money by stating if they will see AA men. If you go to BP or CV and type in "AA", "blacks", or "african" in the search field, you will come across a few providers that will not see black men. It has been my experience that AMPs (not the providers that are in apartment buildings, been shot down by them as well) do not care about ethnicity. I used to use a booker by the name of Helen for the k-girls. Momo, Yu-ra, and Seven were a few of the girls she booked for and I had no problems with her. Unfortunately, her number early last year got disconnected.

I'll tell you a bit about myself as well. I am black, in my 30's, college educated, speak English and Japanese, and am a product of the suburbs. I speak proper grammar, speak proper English, and do not fit the stereotypical mold of an AA male. In any case, I hope my rant sheds a little light on the question asked by Trogdor (Strongbad is hilarious by the way). If anyone else has any comments, feel free to post or PM me. Thanks all.

for sharing your hobbying story here. I'm terribly sorry you've experienced discrimination in seeing providers- while I agree that ultimately it's up to each individual woman whom she will or won't see, it is sad that many have categorical DNS lists, rather than something more along the line of YMMV. Big cock comes attached to many different men, and most of the black men with whom I've been intimate were more average than large. I hope your luck changes and you find providers who are accepting and non-judgemental.

I'm glad you like (and 'get') the alias!

You're welcome. Thanks for bringing up the issue. I've been frequenting this board for quite a while and haven't posted much. I'll try and be a more active member :)

I saw a small provider once (5'2, 100 lb.) in Pasadena where many AA reside. She said she saw a black man once and it was the last time, because he was so endowed that she was hurt. I said there are big and samll ones in every race. She said on the phone she could not ask people's size, but could distinguish a "black accent". She didn't want to take a chance.
But then I saw a kgirl who said she excluded Korean clients because she's afraid of running into them at Ktown.

Isnt that a big difference though in the reasons why the provider doesnt want to see an AA? I can understand the provider not wanting to see someone who she has a big possibility of running into in KTOWN where as she does not want to see a client due to racial stereotypes, BUT ultimately it is the providers choice on who she wants to see..

I have advised several bro's to be upfront with making appointments let them know you are a successful dude, let them know your size, and if you are big let them know you know how to use it gently.  You will have to have good references too.  There's plenty of other guys who wont get seen due to lack of good references.

This goes for any Guy with a big dick. Worst turn off for a girl is when you fuck them like a ragdoll and cause them pain. Good luck getting another appt with them or anyone they are connected with.

A lot of these girls see dark skinned Indian or middle eastern guys, its not a skin color issue.

As far as appartment types, some might be concerned about unwanted attention from their neighbors if the apartment make up isn't diverse.

Only color they see is green period. That and you treat the girl nice, and are well groomed will make you golden.

PS. The more common rejections from Korean women are precisely related to them not wanting to he recognized outside of their work.

Man, that sucks! As a note, two of my favorite providers (Michelle Moss and Harlowe Dahl) each note on their site that they welcome black hobbyists.  If you haven't checked them out yet, I highly recommend it.

It has been my experience that brothers who hobby are well off. You will not catch them doing anything on TER except reading reviews, filling out appointment forms....and getting the hell off this site....as fast as they can click on "log out"....they are out of here.

I am a sister....I see black men.....I travel to LA at least once a month....I have a very loyal following of brothers. Never ever had any issues with my LA lovers who are brothers.....or any other race as far as problematic clients.

Sorry to inform you but the Hobby is ALIVE and well in the black community. The hobby is not confined to TER. TER is a small portion of the hobby. Without fail every brother I have seen anywhere in the country belongs to TER and they don't hang out on the boards, they don't post reviews.....they read, research, and hobby in peace.

TER is too public, too open, and way too much drama goes on here. You have to remember regardless of race and/or culture THIS hobby is NOT a poor mans hobby. Brothers who hobby regularly KNOW they cannot hang out here bc they have too much to loose to sit an troll TER constantly.

Allure`

I am still around.

I am a black man who has his PhD in Computer Science (also played free safety in college football), I am in my mid 40s, and have a six figure income too. Yes, it is sometimes difficult to get providers to see me. But, most importantly, I don't make rejection a personal issue. I know there are great providers out there and I just have to find them.

I will post from time to time to see who date AA men and I do get positive results. I always keep their names private so there is no backlash for them (funny that when you are NOT racist, people want to belittle you for that too). The ones who don't care about my race publicly are usually okay with me posting reviews about them. My current issue right now is that I fly to Florida four times a year, I will post to see AA men, and the admin there will do everything in his power to take down my post before I can get positive results. Why should he care? I don't know.

Anyway, there are black hobbyist out there. I normally just don't broadcast who I am; but, this post is an exception.

Mysterydude

This is a good thread. Glad that you and Kuroi posted your experiences. It's good to have this discussed openly. I'm white ~ every time I get screened by a new K-girl booker, one of the first questions they ask is what race you are ~ so they are clearly screening by race ~ I always assumed that the main purpose was Asian girls screening out black customers. (Not sure if they have issues with Latinos - ?.)

My thought, FWIW, is that people in Asia have little real experience with black people and tons of media-fed stereo-types ~ so some of them screen out black guys based on those stereo-types ~ or just because a black guy seems too different.  It's not cool, but it's also not surprising.

I remember being in a brothel in a small town in Indonesia -- being led into the back to meet my chosen girl -- she looked up at me -- literally let out a screech --- turned around and ran out of the room never to be seen again. The idea of having to deal with a "bule" (white guy) totally freaked her out -- it was just too different from what she was used to ---- I had to laugh --- if you spend some time in a country like that and begin to see the world through their eyes, it's completely understandable that they would act like that. They don't dislike white guys or bare them ill will, but fucking one? It's like asking an American girl to fuck a martian. It's too far outside their realm of experience.

So my guess is that a K-Girl who was going to school here and got to know black students or black acquaintances would not have an issue, but girls who come here straight from Korea and have no experiences with black guys would tend to be the ones who screen.

The admin taking down your posts in Florida is out of line. That should be stopped.

~ BTW I think it's cool that there's a PHD hobbyist on TER - now I feel like I'm in classy company!

Well, I'm not sure if this will get seen but I got pointed in this direction because I started a similar conversation in the General Boards.  Mostly got told to suck it up, even though I never actually complained.

Anyway, I don't even know if I'd call myself a hobbyist as I literally have had 3 meets and all 3 were in the last few days.  I make decent money and am just ending a 16-yr marriage so I thought I'd explore.  So far, it's been mostly a disappointment, but that might have more to do with my hangups than anything.

I'm in the Norfolk region and have exclusively used BP to find providers.  I'd say about 20 or 30% of the ads have some outright or subtle declaration that black men need not apply.  I have to admit that's kind of discouraging, especially when you're looking a woman you really think  you could hit it off with.

Anyway, I just figured I'd share.
