Similar Issues in Porn

While there are one or two name-brand AA stars in porn, for the most part the starlets tend to be the white bread, classic "all American" look that we've come to expect.  When asked why, porn producers invariably say "because it doesn't sell".

I think, as your post brought out, there are so many psychological and socialogical issues that result in our tastes and attractions, but, for men of a certain age (which face it, many of us are), our sexualization was strongly media influenced, and the "girl next door" look that Playboy fostered was lily white for a LONG period of time.  Was it not the Jeffersons before the an interracial committed couple was shown on primetime TV ?

And on the flip side, the attraction of white guys to other ethnicities I think transcends sheer physical attraction.  I believe there are underlying psychological issues surrounding "taboo" or "forbidden" lust that are genuine and erection inducing - almost to the point of fetish.

At any rate, an interesting, and thought provoking post - I can certainly understand your reticence in bringing the subject up - but I think the LA board did itself proud, on both sides of the question.

When it comes to topics about race relations (with myself being AA male), the majority of the time (not always) the discussions seems to be positive, enlightening, and rewarding. I have to say that a lot of non-AAs have offered input that shows that they accept diversity, they believe in human values, and if you read between the lines of some, they seem to be stumped about why racism even exist in a supposed civilized society.

The post by 2dabreaka was pretty cool and it brought out positive humanism within the LA community.

Anyway, I just wanted to toss in my two cents about what I think of the LA board.

I was so nervous because the potential for the jerk-offs to have at me (hence the alias) or the subject in general, it took me a looong time to post it.  A few years ago it was rough water posting on this board and it became seriously unpleasant to even read the comments let alone join in the conversations.

I very happy with the responses wether I agree with them or not.

I saw yours. However, I have seen an AA provider a couple of times before.  Once in DC and once in San Francisco.  There are a few hot AA providers in the LA area, but when I have looked them up their rates have been clearly higher than equivalents of other races.  That is actually the only reason I have not seen more.  This topic is timely in that there is a new AA provider I am considering trying who has a profile on TER but no reviews yet.  So the lack of reviews is my STRONG reluctance.  But everything else looks legit, so I am debating with myself quite a bit on that one.  Providers have to start somewhere just like we do.

I haven't really seen the more expensive ones. To be honest, I don't  hobby much and when I do, usually I'm looking for a K-girl type pricepoint - so my info may not be comprehensive. But looking on backpage (and I know that's considered a sketchy option) but there HAVE been some really, really hot AA girls on there. Usually they're in the LAX area and there is probably some reluctance to take a chance for most guys.

I'll say it like this, I happened to grow up poor in kind of a shitty neighborhood. Later on, I went to college and all is good in life. But I am still able to wander into certain neighborhoods without fear and knowing I can handle myself, BECAUSE I came from where I did. Where a lot of my more suburban, sheltered friends wouldn't dare.  It's got nothing to do with race, it's the perception of a divide that is not really actually there.

Some of these backpage girls could totally get on cityvibe, maybe move their incall location a couple of miles and open up who they see quite a bit. It could totally happen ... there just needs to be a couple of "pioneers"

the great thing about this hobby is our ability to diversify and have positive experieces challenge and overcome any prejudice or bias we may have had.

In the pasti have lamented the fact that AA and other non Asian dolls of color are underrepresented on the board. I hope this and the previous thread would encourage more ebony and Latina dolls to post and hobbyist , who are really unrepresented, to participate more often , just as another minority , Asians , do.

I agree with you on this board Mystery Dude. It is good to know that hobbyists and providers can have these open ended conversations on this forum about race relations in the hobby that are not only thought provoking, but rewarding. There's a lot I've learned trolling this board in my spare time lol.

I thought this was a fairly random, cool topic and though I've tended to be just a lurker on the site in recent years, I thought I'd give my 2cts as well.

I've always felt pretty comfortable with diversity since I'm also I guess what you would call "brown" and I grew up in a very diverse environment. But I remember LA back in the 80's and there was a lot of negativity in the air.

On the subject of girls though, I'd never been specifically attracted to AA girls, though I have dated them. But its never been a "thing" for me. But this year I've been watching this TV show on FX called Archer. Its a raunchy, animated series about a total horndog superspy - and it's flat out hilarious! IF you haven't seen it, seriously, cannot recommend it enough.

But in the show, Archer's only real friend and peer is his fellow superspy - a black woman called Lana Kane. Seeing this beautiful women being sexy and kicking serious ass ... well, long story short, I've had a gigantic hardon for AA females - both in the hobby and in real life too.

Its actually weirder and more embarrassing to note that my dating habits have been changed by an animated TV show LOL - but I've thought about it and its been along the lines of "Wow, how have I not been noticing all these luscious, smart beautiful AA women?"  I don't know how long it will last really, but here recently, I have been completely obssessed.

Maybe the thing is, after all the divisive cultural bullshit, at some point you just become another human being trying to make a connection.

I'd really like to know more about AA girls in the hobby (I'm seeing one tomorrow) - if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear ...

Thanks for the thread ... its cool to have someone say it, because I've been feeling the same thing.
