I am rather new to hobbying and I know I am ignorant of many laws, so I was curious at what point I am breaking the law given my typical M.O. for hobbying:

1) I review websites to see who sparks my interest. Provider must provide incall near my job.  
2) I email the provider and ask for an hour meeting (never even remotely suggesting anything illicit), usually providing two references.
3) The morning of the meeting I email the provider to confirm appointment.
4) Provider texts me meeting location and asks me to text her once I am there.
5) I text, and then provider texts me room#.
6) I go to room and knock.
7) She lets me in.  
8) She greets me with a hug and/or LFK.  
9) I place an envelope in plain sight and ask to use the bathroom.  
10) I return to half-naked provider inviting me to join her on the bed.  
11) We begin kissing and fondling each other.  
12) Sex acts are preformed.
13) A specified amount of time passes: I dress and then leave.

Thankfully, I have not yet had any issues with L.E. or any providers.  Everything has been great.  I only wish to audit my procedure in hopes of insuring my future happiness and perhaps learning what might keep me safer or at least better informed.

Some LE might say #2 was the initial act, but #9 sealed it.

Take you pick among them.

You'll never get past number nine. At that point you are either going to get fucked in a good or a bad way, but you are going to get fucked. lol

That said, you are doing things properly, but if LE is in the room, you are going to jail. The only thing you can do is to make sure you are never in the room with LE. Well reviewed providers can cut that risk to ALMOST zero, but never to absolute zero.

Most arrests happen with everyone fully clothed and nothing sexual having occurred.  If the cops are in the other room, and you show up, you're getting fucked.  And as GaGambler said, not in a good way.

This is why all the clever tactics and scenarios hobbyists concoct just don't mean shit.  Even though I'm not a lawyer, allow me to stipulate that cops lie.  If you show up, regardless of where you are on your list, you will get arrested and they will lie to fill in the blanks.  Trust me on this.

If they've been waiting around for hours in some motel room when they could have been out eating donuts or beating mentally ill homeless people to death in bus stops, they 're not going home empty handed.   You're the fresh meat they've been waiting for, and you're going down so they can make their numbers.

Of course, as they put the cuffs on you, you can explain that you only got to #7 on your list and there's nothing illegal about that.  But I can assure you, by the time your lawyer gets a copy of the police report, it will bear no resemblance to what actually happened.  And if you've ever been to traffic court, you already know how well it turns out when it's your word against a cop.

Anywhere between #2 and #6. The problem is that up until #6, LE cannot identify you as the suspect. They may have your alias or screenname. But they don't know who you really are (unless the provider has flipped and LE has your phone #). In reality they will wait for you to come to them instead of looking to find you.

no offense intended, in any event this question, the prostitution, not the zoological one, should relate to a particular jurisdiction as some require an more than a visit or overt act to qualify (as in California) or do not (as in Las Vegas, New Mexico)

You broke the law at No. 2, which was solicitation to commit a crime.  The act of prostitution may come later, but when you made an appointment asking for a date on a site that obviously is geared to a certain activity, answering an ad by someone engaged in that activity, and saying you wanted to engage in that activity with her, you committed solicitation.

Trust me. I have handled numerous cases of solicitation for other crimes (murder, assault, etc.)  The use of clever phrases like "300 roses" notwithstanding. No 2.

I wonder what the law says if your email or phone number is found with a provider\agency by LE?
I haven't heard of someone getting arrested but I am sure they can put you through an emotional wringer. Anyone have any insight?
