Go to FindLaw.com and follow the links to state laws.  NJ Statutes are available.  Your library also may have copies, and your local court may have a law library, although access to a court library may be restricted to attorneys.

All these laws seem to be by state so is there some place on the net i can check the laws for my state (NJ) ?

http://lawguru.com/
I was given this link when I took some prelaw classes but many laws are so obscure that I have witnessed my legal instructors argue on the legality of a case/issue

I also found this one thebestdefense.com

unfortunately, a lot of these legal site esp. lawguru.com have been altered. I used to go onto lawguru and had much more access to SC Code of Laws last year but they are either getting too many visitors or they are charging for the info that used to be free b/c I can't find the good stuff right now for you

I looked on line for you and found the following link below.  It will be very helpful if you know the title or basic subject heading you are looking for.
