I'd like to learn to play Craps on this next visit. Any suggestions?

When I'm in town the end of next week I'd like to learn and I'm serious. Well, sort of. LOL I do want to learn but I'm never serious. I'm not much of a gambler but it seems a waste to be IN Vegas and not have some fun in the casinos. Where's the best place to learn? Plus I'd like to wear my low cut dress and bend over the craps table. LOL

Book a few hours with Kadi, and have her teach you the way around a casino...

I would, but I'm not well versed in craps.  Crap, on the other hand, is something I'm quite well versed in dishing...

You gave me some great resources. I knew the casinos had classes but thought maybe one was better than another. I learn best hands on. NO pun intended. wink, wink If you do see me making a fool of myself at the craps table come up and say hi.

I would also look on the web for sites that might give you an unbiased look at the bets with the best odds.  Like many games, there are good bets and sucker bets in craps.  If you play it right, craps and blackjack are two games where you have a decent chance to beat the house, in my opinion.  Here is one site I found that has some good info on it. http://www.askmrcraps.com/
Also, a pc video game like Hoyles Casino can help you learn how to play and it is not as expensive like learning from your mistakes at an actual casino.

Most of the larger casinos give lessons in all the games, including craps.  They're usually in the morning or at other slow times.  Take a lesson!

Avoid the strange bets - play the pass line, and take the odds.  It's the best bet in Nevada!  After the lesson, you'll understand these terms.

A cheap place to play is Slots-A-Fun, on the strip, near Circus-Circus.  They have a $1.00 minimum.

Good luck!

There have been excellent posts so far suggesting taking a lesson and learning what the good and bad bets are.

Personally, I took a craps lesson once and the instructor never talked about odds and pushed the place bets. So, no more lessons for me. But, like the hobby YMMV. lol.

Honestly, what I suggest is:

1. Learn the bets (see the links already posted).
2. Start out on a slow table. Nuzzling (although you can nuzzle me any time, Anneke) into a crowded table can be difficult. Hmmm, is Nuzzling a word? But, I digress..
3. Make friends with the dealer at your end of the table. They can be your friend and can help you keep up with what is going on. It will get confusing.

Finally, learn when you can put your hands in the playing area and when to get them out!  Watch the stickman, when he (she) slides the dice to the shooter... it is time to get your hands off of your bets (and on to me - who you nuzzled into the table against :-).

But, above all, have as much fun as you can! Yell, scream, say really stupid shit, but have fun! I once ventured to a craps table, where the shooter was at the end of the table and dancing. When I asked what was up, they said he had been rolling for awhile and the people at the table wouldn't let him stop for fear it would break the streak....Yes, craps players can be superstitious.

Haven't been to vegas in awhile..... getting that urge again...

PS that low-cut dress WILL help. Seriously. It will at least help me :-)

Did I say - HAVE FUN!???

Hey Anneke!..as we discussed before, you would look great @ the tables..maybe too distracting if I was shooting. Too bad I can't be there, I would show you how to hold and toss the pair and play the cum bet, LOL...Have fun in Vegas.
