Back when I didn't know anything about review sites I used bitcoin to pay for ads. Then one day I sent my payment to put an ad up and on my end it said it went through but on their end it didn't so I lost money I never got back. This was two years ago or so. I'm sure it's improved since then but my experience sending was annoying, plus I really didn't like it took an hour or so to go through when it did work.. I have never received bitcoin as a payment though. It's a good idea as long as everything goes through correctly.

Any provider take BTC in this town yet?  Probably none that are too savvy to it I'm guessing.  Tried to get a few into it back when it was 200 or so.  Coinbase account would be only way to fly at this point.

I've seen a couple advertise it here and there, but it's not likely something you'll see much.

You have to remember the demographic these girls service. We're talking 30+ and likely more like 40+ for the majority of them. They're well behind the curve tech wise.

It's a shame really. Bitcoin is the perfect means of transaction in the hobby. Irreversible, reasonably fast, no 3rd party trust, no paper trail, no person to person contact, totally anonymous.

Nowadays you can check your transactions on http://bockchain.info

But what likely happened was your ad vendor stole your bitcoin.

Thanks for the info I'll check it out

Thnx for the responses.  Yes, much like the internet was at first there are alot of pitfalls for sure.  Its up to the developers to make the applications so they are usable to the masses.  In a way its most like cash, such that if you lose cash there is no bank or intermediary to back u up.  Probably the best way for newbies is to get a Coinbase account that is tied directly to a bank account.  That way you accept the coin, then convert it to dollars in your account.  Although that is ACH and can take a couple days.  Until you can go to the store and buy things with BTC that you need its probably the best way.

I think if you initiate the transaction with a prebooked appointment, many providers would be well open to it.

I had only read about Bitcoin a bit, but never used it myself until a client that wanted to prepay for an extended rendezvous wanted to do a transfer using it.

It has caused me a tab bit of frustration when trying to use my laptop for a transaction, then my phone because the Coinbase app kept wanting me to verify my device every single time...... such a pain.... but I am glad I was introduced to it. Eros accepts payment via Bitcoin, and increasingly more vendors are too.
