Once your comfortable with screening you can advertise anywhere. I love finding a diamond in the rough which is what you find on BackPage but it is work. The gentlemen with no mileage are more likely to see you on a regular basis and this is a win win for any lady.

There are a number of free websites that work well for anyone but some snobs will find it non-professional. I used one for a long time and was very happy with it till I felt it was worth paying for my personal address on the web. Your blog looks fine and is actually a wordpress template which many websites are built with just like mine. Just as long as pictures look like you, you have prices and your location with a way to reach you is listed your doing fine.

I agree with Jimmy about using the newbie board. You will get a lot more help and info from there. Lot's of friendly members post there and want to make your time safe and successful. Do go over there and start posting so you are known in the community more than just in Florida. Many gentlemen you might converse with from there might be more approachable to seeing someone new to here. The ladies will be more likely to give you advise via PMs now that you can get private Mail.

The provider board is a great place to turn to for personal questions not comfortable to express on a public board. I believe once you have 3 reviews you can ask admin for entrance to it.

Congratulations on your first review from one of my favorite members here. For the gentlemen that haven't visited Sarah's blog I do hope they take the time to check her site out. It is nice with great pics.

I am learning so much about this online side of the business. I am pretty new to this all, and have learned new things each day.

Here are some things I have noticed, along with questions I have.

First question- is it even appropriate to ask questions like this here?

Second. I have noticed that many of the most recent reviews posted have been of people who advertise on Backpage. Is that a good place to advertise? I looked around a little but it just seems a little... I don't know- just, not my style. But loads of good reviews. Thoughts?

Third- how important is a website? I also noticed that a lot of the reviews are for people who don't have websites, but just an ad/ profile on backpage, P411 or Eros. Guys- does that sort of thing matter when you look for someone? I was considering getting a real website rather than my blog. Is it worth it?

I think that's all for now. ;)

Sorry if my questions bore/annoy you!!

Q1: Yes, feel free to ask questions of any nature here. At worst, you will be ignored or the question will be deleted by admins.

Q2: Better clients stay away from BackPage. Knowing that it's something of adverse selection, you advertise your wares on BP at your own risk.

Q3: Having a website is pretty important if you plan on being a successful independent working girl.

Best of luck.

Thanks, MSHSEX. Does the kind of website matter? I currently have a blog. Would I be better off with a "regular" website? I notice a lot of Tampa providers use template sites. Would one of those be better than a blog?

I never cared to view the template sites.. Lacks originality and seriousness.. I like the site you have running now.. David over in Dayt. Bch.

and I agree with what MSHSEX stated too...

Regular site trumps blog. A template site is fine, so long as it shows your pics, donation rates, contact info, etc.

Here's an opinion by a guy here that reviews....

Templates are alright in my book...I don't care, like them better than blog sites for sure. I don't want to know your philosophies...I want to see up to date pix, your hrly & multi rates, city, & time available, TER reviews link. Websites are important for 97% of providers, unless you're a Suzy Solaris.

P411 & Date check are excellent places to be on, & guys who contact you from there are verified by site & ok's by providers...much better than white list.

Eros is ok if you tour, but I want cross reference to TER reviews, webpage or at least she's on P411, or I won't bite.

BP...there are some good providers that advertise, again, I want to see that TER review link & her website, or I pass. BP can be a head ache for some providers though w/time wasters, last minute contacts, no reference, & LE trolling, so you better be up for it & be a good screener.

Also, pose this question on the newbie board & other questions you may have that are "newbie-ish on the hobby....you were learn a  lot there.

When you have enough reviews, 1 may be enough, maybe 2, not sure, check on newbie or TER provider rules, get yourself on the Provider Only Board on TER, for back channel info, you would have read about rocker scammer there...it's good to scan daily, just ignore the drama on that board. ;-)

CNN is hammering BackPage.com as we speak. I don't envy the position BackPage.com's chief legal counsel is in. As the primary defender of BackPage's services in court, she's got her work cut out for her.

Thank you all so much for your replies. Haley, you're such a sweet lady- you've been an enormous help to me. I can't thank you enough. :)

And thank you hardwood for the compliment on my lips. :)

Gatorjimmy, thanks for your response. My blog is mostly my site- with all the requisite info. The "philosophy" part is only a page on that- not even the first page. So nobody has to read it if they don't want to. (and judging by my stats, they don't. lol!) As Haley said, I just use that as a template, as I like it's functionality. I have a blog in my civilian world and it's familiar to me.

And BP might be too risky at the moment.

Now to work on getting my next two reviews so I can get onto the provider's board...

I like the one you have, you should sign up for p411 and I think you will be all set. If you need an invite PM me...
