way too freaking hard while doing the most mundane of activities? So I'm sitting in a lecture on how to tweak PCR (polymerase chain reaction) to yield better fragment amplification results when performing gel electrophoresis. One can add higher concentrations of Mg2+, DMSO and glycerol among others...  
   
 Now the way my brain is set up I began to wonder how our study organism (Crithidia fasciculata) gets it on (I know how, but bear with me) and if females need warm ups to get them wet and ready and do the males sometimes take performance enhancers (a little extra mosquito gut contents please! I have to go bang the missus) to ensure a wild ride.  
   
 I made a note in my lab notebook, "Must post to T" because it gave me a laugh and my lab PI totally side-eyed me for it because everyone turned around to see what was so funny.  
   
 I said aloud, "Just wondering if lady C. fasciculata sometime need a warm up before getting on with the business of creating daughter cells."  
   
 Needless to say he was not amused.
